About

Who are we?
Fair Design Co is about honesty, it's about exposing people to the issues our world faces today. Every year the team decides upon a different issue with a corresponding charity. We hope to expose people to and raise awareness for these issues through different forms of design and the arts. Ultimately the pieces at the show are sold to raise money for the allocated charity.

What is the show about?
This year the show is about the ghastly working conditions in sweatshops. It’s about bringing attention to the inhumane and slave-like treatment of the workers, about opening eyes and bringing realization to the need for change.

What is Clean Clothes Campaign?
This year the show and event will raise money for Clean Clothes Campaign.
The Clean Clothes Campaign has, since 1989, worked to help ensure that the fundamental rights of workers are respected. The Campaign is a union of organizations in 16 countries including NGO’s and trade unions that cover several issues from women’s rights to poverty reduction. They rely on a partner network of over 200 organizations and trade unions in garment producing countries working to identify local problems and support workers suffering from poor working conditions. On average laborers in the garment industry work 70-80 hours a week and barely earn enough to survive. Worldwide there are roughly 47 million people working in the clothing industry where they are exposed to dangerous working conditions, hunger, forced labor and sexual abuse. We hope to bring attention to the issue and to improve, with your help, the lives and rights of these workers.
